A little bit about myself:
I'm Melinna, a UI/UX designer based in Los Angeles. I'm passionate about designing creative and delightful experiences. I'm constantly learning new skills and love collaborating with other designers to gain new perspectives.
How I got here:
🎓 With a bachelor's degree in Design from Brazil, I honed my skills working as a designer at the second-largest publisher in the country.
🎨 I've always been surrounded by art. In school, I loved art projects and creating presentations for my groups. However, I wanted a deeper understanding of research and problem-solving.
🧠 Coming to the US as an Au Pair opened my eyes to new possibilities. After two years of learning English, it was time to go back to my career and decide where I wanted to be as a designer.
Through lots of research, I discovered the world of UI/UX design. I thought it was fascinating a career that combined creativity with a user-centered approach, and you learn so much about people
👩🏻🎓 In 2023, I enrolled in the UI/UX Designer program at Springboard, and I'm constantly eager to learn and apply new skills. I'm particularly excited to apply my user research skills to create truly user-centered experiences.
Fun Facts:
🍭 When I was an Au Pair I took care of 5 kids!
🐋 I’m part of 1% of the world population that have seen a blue whale and I swam with sharks as well.
👩🏻💻I love the movie Devil Wears Prada and that is the reason I applied to work for a publisher for my internship.
🇧🇷 I taught one person how to speak Portuguese in a short amount of time. Now I have friends asking me to teach them English and I am thinking of doing that during my spare time.
🎪 I am a huge Cirque du Soleil fan and I watch as many as I can in person.
So far I’ve seen 7.
🧶 I am learning how to crochet and aventuring myself in the world of amigurumi.
📺 ☂️ I learned English by watching How I Met Your Mother (my favorite show). I received a video from one of the actors, Josh Radnor, wishing me Happy Birthday!
